Pinkie Wang - Design Department President

Hi, I’m Yujing Wang, known as Pinkie, an MA Global Advertising and Branding student. I’m curious, approachable and happiest when bringing people and ideas together.

I bring experience as a creative practitioner, student leader and studio co-founder. My advertising degree, Publicis internship and work in design and AI animation have shown me how different creative skills can work together. Through our studio supporting student projects, I’ve also seen how much an idea needs clear communication, teamwork and practical support to move forward. As president of my university’s student art troupe, I gained experience coordinating creative teams. I was also deputy leader of a social research project that gathered over 4,500 responses across 12 Chinese provinces. That experience taught me to ask questions, compare perspectives and support suggestions with evidence.

As Design Department President, I would focus on three priorities:

• Connected representation: meet regularly with Course Reps, understand each course’s needs and agree which issues to raise with staff.
• Visible progress: share concise updates after meetings, explaining agreed actions, outstanding questions and what needs further follow-up.
• Shared creative opportunities: work with students and staff to explore skill exchanges and make existing workshops, portfolio support and career opportunities easier to find.

As an international student, I understand the effort of finding your voice in a new environment. I will seek input from students across backgrounds and levels of study.

Vote for Pinkie: someone who listens carefully, brings people together and keeps things moving.
