At Heartstart our aims are; To train students across the board particularly medical students to be confident in teaching children CPR. To spread the message about the importance of everyone knowing what to do in a cardiac arrest situation. Provide an enjoyable environment to allow children to be engaged in a serious subject to be taught in a fun way. Providing a society where members can decide how involved they want to be. To provide a supportive society with a strong committee for people to approach if they need it.

Heartstart is a society that involves teaching children from schools or local groups including brownies and scouts the importance of basic life support.

After a training session, members will be able to attend these sessions. Sessions will go over DRS ABC and demonstrating and teaching good technique for chest compressions. Also involved is teaching the recovery position and choking depending on what the groups wish to be taught!

It is great fun and the volunteering looks great on applications!
