Engineers Rugby!

(You don't have to be an engineer)

We are a team that just loves rugby, we play a relaxed fun style.

Rugby at university currently has a bad reputation, it's our mission to change this! we believe in sticking to the core values of rugby, having fun and being inclusive. You can be a rugby expert or a complete novice, we don't care!

We train twice a week on a Wednesday and Sunday at 2pm! Our sessions run for 2 hours, and focus on a wide range of rugby skills and drills (and not too much fitness), as well as having a bit of fun (who doesn't love a bit of touch rugby). We train at Wide Lane Sports Ground and Southampton Common, and we get use of the maintained fields and facilities, all a quick bus ride away!

We normally play games every one/two weeks, participating in the annual intramural league along with friendlies against local universities and clubs! Our philosophy is if you turn up, you play! and we take this to heart - we aim to give everyone a fair share of game time no matter of ability.

Alongside our on-field events, we host a wide range of socials throughout the year from relaxed drinks watching the rugby to themed events and karaoke. In line with our club spirit, we aim to break down the negative stigma attached to university rugby teams - and so our socials are focused on being fun and building team spirit.

Make sure to take a look at our socials! you can check out all our events and training sessions there.
