Glen Eyre (Netball)

Glen Eyre Netball is an all-inclusive IM club with 3 teams in 3 different leagues - perfect for all abilities!

Welcome to Glen Eyre Netball!

 

We're one of the University of Southampton's largest intramural (IM) netball clubs, with a friendly and inclusive atmosphere, welcoming players of all abilities - from complete beginners to seasoned players. With three competitive teams across three different leagues, there's opportunities for everyone to play every Sunday, get involved, and find their place in Glen.

Alongside weekly training and matches, we also have socials every wednesday, including themed nights, pub crawls, joint socials, charity events, tournaments, and an annual trip abroad!

We also compete in the Hampshire Margaret Whittaker League, giving our members the chance to represent Glen Eyre and take their netball beyond campus.

Glen Eyre is a great way to meet new people, get involved and maker the most of your time at uni!

Whether you're living in Glen Eyre halls or elsewhere, everyone is welcome - and we'd love for you to join us and be part of something special.

 

Training: Tuesdays, 7:30-9:00pm @ Wide Lane Sports Ground

Matches: Sundays

External Team: Additional training on Wednesdays, 2-3pm and league matches every Monday.

The Committee

All clubs and societies within the Students' Union are run entirely by students. The student committee for Glen Eyre (Netball) this year are:

  • The President shall oversee the organisation and management of the club and committee as a whole.

  • The Treasurer shall oversee the club's finances, set the budget and maintain the club's accounts. The Sponsorship Sec shall identify and communicate with external organisations for the club to partner with.

  • Team captains shall organise and run the weekly training sessions. They will select their team for Sunday matches and oversee these games.

  • The External Fixture Captain shall organise all external events, including friendly matches with other universities and the Margaret Whittaker League.

  • The Fitness Sec shall organise and run the weekly fitness session during training as well as any external fitness opportunities.

  • The Kit Sec shall design, order and distribute all kit for the club.

  • The Social Media Sec shall keep members updated on training, socials and events through the club's social media platforms.

Membership Information

These are the current membership fees offered by Glen Eyre (Netball), although many clubs and societies offer a free period for new members to try out their activities.
