Welcome to South Asian Medics !

We’re a community for students at the University of Southampton who want to celebrate, explore and connect through the diverse cultures, traditions and experiences of South Asia. And while we celebrate South Asian culture at our core, we’re truly open to anyone and everyone — whether you have South Asian heritage, are curious to learn more, or simply want to meet new people and be part of our community.

For 2026–27, we’re introducing a new vision for the society — one that puts community building, connection and having fun together at the heart of everything we do. While we’ll continue to celebrate the traditions and culture that bring us together, we want South Asian Medics Soton to become a community that you genuinely look forward to being part of throughout the year.

We’re hoping to create more opportunities to meet people, build friendships across different years of medical school, support one another academically and simply enjoy being together outside of lectures and placements. From revision sessions and fresher academic support to special socials, cultural celebrations, games, community activities, collaborations and our annual conference, there’ll be plenty of ways to get involved.

Most importantly, we want the society to be shaped by its members. Whether you’re looking to reconnect with your roots, share your culture, make new friends, get some academic support, or simply have a good time with an amazing community, there’s a place for you here.

The Committee

All clubs and societies within the Students' Union are run entirely by students. The student committee for South Asian Medics Southampton this year are:
