Irish Dance Society
The society provides the opportunity to learn or practice Irish Dancing and offers classes covering group ceili, soft shoe, and hard shoe.
We offer beginners, improvers and advanced classes every Friday, With each class using both soft and hard shoes, taught by a qualified teacher.
We are also aiming to hold workshops throughout the year taught by professional dancers. The Irish Dance Society is a part of USD (Union Southampton Dance) and holds auditions for a competition squad which competes all over the country for the university.
We also take part in Pure Dance, a university-wide dance show held in March each year giving members the opportunity to show off their skills learned all year in team dances choreographed in class. The classes we hold are laid back and fun and perfect for students wanting to start their dance career or those you have danced throughout their lives and want to continue their passion.
Come along and try us out, as one of the fastest growing dance societies on campus!! .
