Labour Society

The Labour Society is a group for Labour supporting students on campus. We aim to work with the University, SUSU and other student societies to represent Southampton students, to promote political education, help students become involved in Labour politics, and support the local Southampton Labour Party

Welcome to the Southampton University Labour Society!

A university Labour Society is the best way for young members to start getting involved in the Labour movement! Come meet new friends, debate topics, and attend fantastic events. In the past, SULS has had some amazing activities, including but not limited to:

  • Tours round the Houses of Parliament and Senedd
  • Talks by local councillors, MPs, and trade unionists
  • Canvassing for our now PM, Andy Burnham up in Makerfield!

In that same period of time, we have organised many socials, such as:

  • Joint events with other politics societies
  • A Christmas Ball
  • Club nights, house parties, and Pub Crawls
  • Sober board game + bannana bread nights

SULS is not just a talking-shop! Political activism starts here! Including:

  • Joining political demonstrations in the city
  • Sending delegates to the Annual Labour Party Conference
  • Joining lecturers on the picket lines during strikes!

So please come along!

Our weekly meetings are always at 6:45, every Wednesday, in Room 4011, Building 100.
