Labour Society

The Labour Society is a group for Labour supporting students on campus. We aim to work with the University, SUSU and other student societies to represent Southampton students, to promote political education, help students become involved in Labour politics, and support the local Southampton Labour Party

Welcome to the Southampton University Labour Society!

The Labour Society is the best way to start getting involved in the Labour movement and to meet new friends, debate topics, and attend fantastic events. In the past, SULS has had some amazing activities:

  • a trip up to London for a tour of the Houses of Parliament
  • talks by local councillors and the Leader of Southampton City Council
  • helping campaigning and even standing some of our members as local candidates!

In that same period of time, we have organised many a social, such as:

  • joint socials with other politics societies
  • a Christmas Ball
  • club nights, houseparties and Pub Crawls!

SULS is not just a talking-shop! Political activism starts here! Including:

  • joining political demonstrations in the city
  • sending delegates to the Annual Labour Party Conference
  • joining lecturers on the picket lines during strikes!

So please come along!

Our weekly meetings are always at 7pm, every Wednesday, in Room 1025, Building 58.
