Touch Rugby

Touch Rugby is a mixed non-contact sport inspired by rugby league and is one of the fastest-growing international sports to date. SUTRC are an Athletic Union and BUCS team representing the University of Southampton regionally & nationally.

TRAINING TIMES

  • Tuesdays 6-8pm @ Wide Lane Sports Ground
  • Thursdays 6-8pm @ Wide Lane Sports Ground
  • Bi-weekly friendlies on Saturdays 12-2pm @ Wide Lane Sports Ground

 

ANNUAL EVENTS

Every year we participate in:

  • BUCS Regional Tournaments in November
    • Playing in a Southern league against over 20 other universities
    • Usually 2 weekends away in either Reading or Guildford
  • BUCS National Tournaments in February
    • Playing in a national league against over 40 universities in the UK
    • Usually 3 weekends away in Nottingham

 

SOCIALS

We host a wide regular socials (both drinking and non-drinking) ranging from themed nights out pubbing and clubbing to movie nights and team award meals. A highlight of the year is our annual summer trip to Bournemouth to play beach touch! Not to be missed.

Membership Information

These are the current membership fees offered by Touch Rugby, although many clubs and societies offer a free period for new members to try out their activities.

Please note that some memberships of this group may also require you to purchase Sport & Wellbeing membership from the University of Southampton in order to use the relevant sport facilities
