University of Southampton Ophthalmology Society

The University of Southampton Ophthalmology Society is a student-led society dedicated to promoting interest in ophthalmology, eye health and vision science. We aim to provide accessible opportunities for all students to learn about ophthalmology as a medical and surgical specialty through careers talks, clinical skills workshops, academic teaching, research and audit opportunities, mentorship, and networking with clinicians and trainees. We support students considering ophthalmology, improve exposure to a specialty that can be underrepresented in the medical curriculum, and encourage wider engagement with eye health, visual science and healthcare innovation. We are proudly supported by consultants at the UHS Eye Unit, helping us connect students with local clinical expertise, mentorship and insight into the world of ophthalmology!
