discuss with the university regarding the obnoxious prices of degree certificates from the online uni shop

Went online to check degree certificates as I need to send them for my master's (continue doing it here yey) and on the shop's website, the following options are available for a final transcript, the confirmation of award letter, and a certified copy of the degree: https://store.southampton.ac.uk/product-catalogue/student-and-academic-administration/exams-awards-duplicate-transcripts-and-graduation/award-packages/award-confirmation-package.

I find it absolutely horrible to have to pay that much for copies of the official results! I'm okay with paying 30 pounds, but 50 pounds to have the physical copy? I think that is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much considering the financial situation every student is in right now. I cannot work and relly on the help of my family, who at the same time, have difficulty supporting themselves. This cost is extreme and I find it ridiculous to pay that much!

Please get in touch with the university and help graduating students if you can! Thanks for all the work you're doing, stay safe!

Hi there,

Thank you for your You Make Change.

When you graduate, you get a copy of a transcript and the degree certificate on for free. However, if you need more copies or to replace a lost degree certificate, then they charge you £50 for the package.

Kind regards,

Jo Lisney, VP Education&Democracy 2019-20, (vpeddem@soton.ac.uk)
