Potential Addition of an Amazon Locker within SUSU

If anything has become clear over the past couple of years at University it is that students end up recieving quite a few parcels. Quite a few of these end up being essential to our degree courses, yet the nature of many degrees mean that quite often deliveries are missed. While there are undoubtedly worse problems to face, it is a little annoying.
Out of all of the retailers Amazon fulfil quite a few of these parcels, and other Universities/Unions have had Amazon Lockers fitted into their buildings - Solent's SU is a good example of this. The main SUSU building is in an ideal location to host one of these Lockers, and as the Amazon website explains (https://www.amazon.co.uk/b/ref=s9_acss_bw_cg_x_md1?node=9112273031&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-top-2&pf_rd_r=8QZZQGYYDNH0ST67S7JY&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=807746807&pf_rd_i=2594544031) there is also the potential for SUSU to earn some additional revenue from companies wishing to advertise on the locker itself.
This is by no means a critical issue, but more of a question of convenience. Other Unions do it already, and there is no reason that we can't do the same.

I asked whether we could have the lockers in the building and unfortunately, when we investigated this a few months ago Amazon turned us down because there is nowhere in the building they deemed suitable to put them. However, in the master plan, we’re looking to make the building much more open, and so there should be space then.

Hi Sam – funnily enough, I had this exact same thought the same day you that you sent your email, I was at MMU (Manchester Met Union) where they’ve got amazon lockers and it seems like a great idea. I’m going to see if we can get some, and if so, where to put them as soon as possible. Thanks for the suggestion!
