Housing information for students in Winchester

Currently students have access to SASSH through susu to find reputable landlords and housing in Southampton.

There are an increasing amount of students at WSA or on placement in Winchester now.

Would it be possible to generate a similar thing for Winchester student rentals, and/or liaise with University of Winchester to gain access to their studentpad website?

The studentpad website seems to be where most student housing in Winchester is solely advertised but we don't have access as it's only for those with a UoW email.

This would benefit so many of us and help us find reputable landlords outside of Southampton, so please would you consider this?

Thank you.

Hi,

Thank you for your submission!

The SUSU Lettings Agency has houses in Winchester that open up in November, these are very reputable landlords in affordable quality housing. In addition to this service that we already provide, the University of Southampton have confirmed that they are keen to implement a system similar to SASSH as they have ambition to continue to grow the WSA campus and thus the student population living in Winchester. I have spoken to our Lettings Team and they will work with the Residences Team at the University to help develop this. Due to the nature of this work, it will likely take some time for it to be implemented. I recognise that this may not directly solve the issue, but hope that there is comfort in that for students in the future, this isssue will be mitigated. Thank you for flagging this!

I am going to close this submission now as everything has been actioned. If you have any further questions, please feel free to make another submission or email my successor, Ed Brooker, at president@soton.ac.uk
