Update the SUSU transcript function to include membership for societies as well as committee roles

Complete

It would be really useful to be able to list societies that we've been members of, as well as those in which we've had committee roles. This would be beneficial particularly towards academic society membership as it allows us to demonstrate to future employers that we are dedicated (especially for the medical students who join societies specific to medical specialties, which are very competitive to get into and require dedication to be shown from university level onwards)

This wouldn't necessarily take much to implement given that SUSU likely has on file every society we've bought membership for through their website, so it would just be a case of making this available to the student and adding this as a category to their transcript.

Please consider this as it would really help us with future employability and is a very simple thing to implement (and hopefully could be easily backdated for each student as well)

Hi, thanks for this submission. I completely understand the potential usefulness of having a record of your memberships, but the transcripts are intended to display committee positions only as these are the officially-held volunteer roles that display a higher level of responsibility and commitment than having purchased membership alone. The transcript would also end up being slightly skewed as for example first years tend to sign up to a lot of societies to try them out, especially the free ones, so would be listed as a member whether or not they had actually attended any sessions or been especially dedicated to the society. Personally, I have previously provided references for former members of societies I have run, so asking your societies' committee members to reference you could be a good alternative option. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss this further.
