Complete
The Student's Union should hold an all student vote on whether clubs and societies should be required (as part of affiliation) to use Money Hub and Box Office.
I believe that societies and clubs should be able to choose the financial system that works for them, be it a bank or Money Hub.
I request a brief campaigning period to acompany this for clubs and societies to make their cases.
I also request full details of the 2024 Democracy Review that led to these changes, including evidence banks.

Dear student,
Over the past year we have circulated information on transitioning to Money Hub. All affiliated groups are required to transition onto Money Hub by the end of January 2025. It is bringing SUSU in line with all other Student Unions, most sports departments and ensures continued compliance with charity law. The move also addresses continued restrictions that are being put on affiliated groups by external banks that was resulting in many groups accounts being frozen and assets being lost.
In 2023/24, prior to the move to Money Hub, SUSU sought feedback from students on this move through forums and through the then VP Activities and VP Sports. The deadline for Clubs and Societies to move to Money Hub was then formally announced at induction held during June/September 2024 and shared via clubs and societies in 1-2-1 meetings held with our Activities Coordinators, with all clubs and societies being encouraged to have a meeting with the team if they had any questions or concerns. As such, many clubs and societies have rightfully raised many questions to our Activities Coordinators and have received help from them on how a slight change of process may affect them in the short term but will overall benefit groups in the long term. If you have any questions that you would like me to pass on to the team, please feel free to contact me and I will endeavour to help with any concerns you may have.
I will leave this submission as open if you have any more to add, otherwise please feel free to reach out to me via email. I would really like to hear from you directly so we can ensure your concerns are discussed with the relevant team.
Many thanks,
Conor White (he/him)
