P 1. Referendum

Following the Emergency Council meeting, where a policy was passed for Democracy Zone committee to reconsider their decision on the rebrand referendum dates, I want us to have a proper, thorough, and student focused reconsideration.

In my view, this means that we should try and discuss the positive and negative impacts of all options available, as I feel that this is the most objective and unbiased way to base the decision, and all other discussions would be based on a balanced discussion of all options. In order to make sure that the discussion is as focused as possible on a decision that will best affect all of our 24,000 members, I am proposing to chair the discussion in the following manner:

- We will start the discussion together by jointly prioritising the factors upon which the decision should be based.

- We shall briefly, and as objectively as possible, recap the relevant information that has been presented so far.

- We will then open up the room for new information

- Together, we shall have a brief recapping of the most significant pros and cons of each option.

- We shall then discuss how each option meets the prior agreed upon decision factors, so that we can be sure we are comparing options against agreed upon criteria that assesses potential impact for our entire student body

- Should it be required, the voting members shall be offered a brief break to consider their vote in privacy

- The vote shall be cast.

I welcome all students to attend their meeting and be part of the discussion, and I hope that all present can be part of a reasoned, respectful, and productive discussion, so that together we can come to a fairly reached, and student focused decision.
