Receptionist & Administrator

£17,079 to £18,189 (£9.36 - £9.97 p/hour), with potential progression to £20,275

Permanent role - Full time - 35 hours per week (Part-time job share would be considered)

 

Are you an effective administrator who is passionate about providing outstanding customer service? If so, the University of Southampton Students’ Union (SUSU) have an exciting new opportunity for a Receptionist & Administrator to join the team!

 

The Role
The Receptionist & Administrator will have a key role in delivering our front of house reception offer, providing a high level of customer service. You will act as an initial point of contact for enquiries, ticket sales, booking and services, liaising with students, staff and other visitors. You will work as part of the central business services team, providing administrative support across a range of activities, projects and departments which enable the smooth running of the Students’ Union.

As the first point of contact, you’ll be proactive in resolving issues in a positive and supportive manner.  You’ll be the primary receptionist based on our main reception at Highfield Campus during our core reception hours of 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. You’ll have flexibility in supporting our team in coverage, completing a 7 hour shift with an hour unpaid rest break. Additional hours may be required to support the team during peak times, for which time off in lieu will be provided.

The role is part of a core team of three, including the Business Services Coordinator and the role will be line managed by the Business Services Officer. In addition to this the service is supported by a team of student staff, who provide support and reception coverage, particularly during peak times, evenings and weekends.

 

About You
We are looking for an administrator with a successful track record of working in an office and customer service environment. You’ll have strong communication and interpersonal skills and will be able to organise and plan tasks to meet deadlines and objectives. You’ll have a professional attitude with the ability to work under pressure, whilst remaining positive. You will have a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Work and Excel and training will be provided on our in house systems and processes.
