Complete

Since last Spring/Summer, the announcement system on Unilink bus has stopped working and has brought inconvenience to the public especially new students arriving from a different place. I hope that the Union would be able to do something about this.

Hello again!

I'm back with some good news! I've had an email conversation with the Unilink Manager and they have just confirmed that as part of their contract renewal with the University of Southampton they are investing in 32 brand new buses, due to arrive later this year. These buses (among other new features) will also include a revised stop announcement system, which should hopefully work better than the old one. If you want to find out more, take a look at the full press release here.

Hopefully that answers your question - if you have any more ideas get in touch with me (details below) or Unilink (talk2us@unilinkbus.co.uk) and we'll do what we can to help out.

All the best,

Samuel Dedman (VP Education 2017/18 - vpeducation@susu.org)

Hello!

Thanks for getting in touch. It might seem a bit odd that I'm handling this as VP Education, but this is something which I noticed myself yesterday evening while travelling home on the U1C. What is even more curious is that the system worked fine up until a couple of months ago, with both the announcements and on-board displays being correct.

I've just send an email over to Unilink and to the University's contact with them, and will let you know as soon as I hear back. In the meantime remember that your You Make Change can now be upvoted and downvoted, so share it among your fellow students to see what they think!

All the best,

Samuel Dedman (VP Education, vpeducation@susu.org)
