Middle East Crisis – Supporting Our Students Update

Before Christmas we promised to reach out to students to learn how we can better support you. After some really valuable meetings with different students, we have taken your feedback on board and are pleased to announce the following:

Students told us that it could be difficult to know who to speak to at SUSU or how to find them

We want to make it as easy as possible to talk to us, so from Monday 18 March there will be a permanent drop-in space outside the Bridge in B42. One of the Sabbatical Officers and the Activities team will be there during the day Monday – Friday, so please come along and talk to us – we want to learn how best to support and represent you. (The elections team are currently running the elections hub in this space and they can also help with most things!)

We will also be getting in touch with society committees to get to know you better and provide specific support.

Students told us it can be difficult to work out how to organise events
We are now working on a simplified process for booking events and stalls. In the meantime, though, come and visit the new space if you need help.

Students outside clubs and socs want to be able to organise an event
We will be using some of these Sabb update emails to share information with all students about booking and organising events with SUSU’s support.

Joining a club or society or coming to an event!
Although half of all students are already a member of at least one club or society, some of you may not be aware of how many there are to choose from. Check out SUSU Activities – Clubs and Societies to find a new hobby or the SUSU ‘What’s On’ Calendar for events uploaded by SUSU, clubs and societies.
