Making Our Website More Accessible with Recite Me

We want everyone in our student community to be able to access the info they need on our website – in a way that works best for them. That’s why we use Recite Me, our handy accessibility toolbar that lets you customise how you view and interact with our site.

This month, we caught up with Recite Me for our annual review, and the results were super insightful! Here’s what we learned about our website from May 2024 – May 2025:

  • 8,042 unique users used Recite Me across the SUSU and Box Office sites
  • 42,683 pages were viewed using the tool
  • On average, users browsed 5.4 pages per session — way above the industry average of 2.8!
  • The most-used features were the screen reader and translation tools, with English and Mainland Chinese being the top languages.

Recite Me also ran an Accessibility Scan for us, highlighting ways we can make our site even more inclusive and compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), which we will be working on and rolling out shortly.

We will be continuing with Recite Me for the 25/26 year, and have agreed to enable a new AI feature which scans the webpage and gives users an AI-generated summary of the page, making content more digestible.

We’re always working to make sure our digital spaces are welcoming and easy to use for everyone. Got ideas or feedback? We’d love to hear from you.
