Annual General Meeting (AGM)

The AGM stands for Annual General Meeting and it is a meeting of the general membership of an organisation or group. The legal requirements of the AGM at the Students' Union is for our students to receive and approve the Annual Reports which include the accounts for the year 2019/20, the Appointment of the Auditors and the Political Expenditure of the Union next year.

All our student-led clubs and societies will hold an AGM at the end of each academic year to elect the new committee members. Like these society AGMs, the SUSU AGM it is an important opportunity for stakeholders of the organisation to meet and provide feedback about its performance and future plans.

Discussion Forum

After the AGM has taken place, our Sabbatical Officers will be leading discussions about several key topics. The topics for these discussions will be drawn from recent submission from our student through our You Make Change portal and feedback from students.

The question topics for discussion are below. After each discussion you will be able to vote on what actions we should take.

  • What can SUSU do to help students who are feeling lonely?
  • What more can SUSU be doing to support BAME students?
  • What improvements do you want to see at Wide Lane?
  • Following the University’s new sustainability strategy what more can SUSU be doing?
  • What more can SUSU do for students with disabilities?

Your attendance and contribution will help to directly shape the work that is done over this next year by your team of elected officers. We invite you to come join us on Thursday 26th November 2020 to engage with the discussion and share your ideas.
