Nomination Examples
Full Colours
I am would like to nominate Iris for the Southampton Full Colours award, as she has been an outstanding representative of both the university and the sport this season. Iris competes at the highest level, representing Wales internationally for ladies lacrosse. Beyond her impressive individual accomplishments, Iris has made a significant impact on the team by sharing her knowledge, tips, and advice with players across the club. Her willingness to support her teammates and elevate the team’s performance has been instrumental in securing several wins this season. Iris’s leadership, skill, and commitment to the sport make her a deserving candidate for this recognition, and she continues to inspire both on and off the field.
Best Academic Impact
One of the most dedicated and inspiring students I’ve met in medical school. Her passion for research and academic excellence is evident in everything she does. She’s not only incredibly knowledgeable but also always willing to help others—whether it’s explaining complex concepts, guiding younger students, or leading study groups. Her work has already made an impact, and I have no doubt she’ll continue to contribute significantly to the field. She truly deserves this recognition.
Equality and Diversity Award
Mixed lacrosse has been slowly but surely increasing their numbers, and with that their diversity, equality and inclusion of the club. This year alone we have had multiple members of all genders and ethnicities join, and all have been welcomed with open arms. Many of our members have also never played the sport before university, so we have a really strong push for inclusivity and training for beginners, with two dedicated freshers captains, as well as second team captains ready to step in and help everyone feel welcome and receive valuable and friendly training. We then get everyone involved right away and start offering up match opportunities, advancements through teams and big group trainings, so plenty of whole club bonding. Throughout the year we also host multiple ‘bring a friend’ training sessions and socials, where every member of the club is encouraged to bring a housemate, course mate, any kind of friend and introduce them to the club and sport! It makes for really relaxed, friendly and welcoming atmosphere, and helps everyone’s social circles expand, as well as helping the club grow! We’ve always had really really positive feedback from these events and love holding them, so will continue them in the months and years to come!
