Why vote for James Baines?

Hi,

I’m James, a ship science student, and I’m running to become the next civil, maritime and environmental department president.

So why vote for me?

I’ve already done a lot of work in SUSU (I was a course rep and Boldrewood rep) so you can trust me to do my job properly and represent you at the SSLC and committee meetings. I’ll always be available to answer your questions if you need me, and I’ll be clear and transparent with you on any decisions that are made.

As department president, I promise to

  • Ensure all engineers are represented, and that your courses are as good as they can be
  • Promote and find new industrial opportunities (which I’ll feedback to you through the course reps)
  • Promote and organise social events in this department, with relevant societies.

Please consider voting me into this role, so I can continue to work to improve life at the university and ensure you enjoy your courses as much as possible. I'm part of both the engineering and maritime societies, and I work as a student ambassador at Glen Eyre East - so you’ll see me around.

If you have any questions, then don’t hesitate to ask me.

James
