Why vote for Lorinc Doleschall?

Hello, everyone!

I'm Lorinc, and I'm currently pursuing my master’s degree in Energy and Sustainability as part of the civil engineering department. Back at my previous university, I held the position of Environmental Officer for over two years, all while studying renewable energy engineering. Sustainability isn't just a passing interest for me; I actively strive to make a difference.

I'm excited to announce my candidacy for the role of Engineering and Physical Sciences Sustainability Representative. Here's why I'd love to work on these important issues:

  • Smarter waste collection on campus:
Sometimes, it feels like there are recycling and food waste bins scattered around, but they don't always cover all our waste types. It makes sense to keep general waste collectors as well, ensuring we can dispose of all our rubbish responsibly.
  • Covered bicycle storages:
Being a cyclist myself, I can't help but wonder why our bicycle storage areas lack roofs, especially in rainy England.
  • Boosting buildings' energy efficiency:
Our campus has its fair share of older buildings. It's crucial to prioritize replacing their windows and doors and insulating them to save energy and make our spaces more comfortable.
  • Sustainable management:
I believe in making decisions that benefit students while considering their needs and opinions. I'll always be accessible and open to students from all departments, not just engineering, to address questions, issues, and brainstorm solutions together.

Let's work together to create a more sustainable and student-friendly environment on campus.
