Why vote for Rose Kent?

Hi I'm Rose, a third year student midwife running for Midwifery Department President. I am running for the role as I was the second year course rep for midwifery and enjoyed the role greatly! For example, gathering feedback which led to the change to the Year 2 research module and the changing of deadlines to ensure our holidays remain protected. You should choose me for this role as I would like to continue gathering feedback from my cohort to ensure our final year runs as smoothly as possible, to prepare us for lives as qualified midwives. Additionally, I will ensure first and second years feel heard and ensure their feedback contributes to positive change within the programme,  One of my main priorities is ensuring each student has a work/life balance, as midwifery is a tough degree with little protected breaks, so if elected I am keen to hear from all student midwives ways to protect this balance and take care of our mental health. Additionally, from experiencing first year living away from home in halls, another priority is ensuring these students feel supported away from home and can come to me for support if needed. As I have finished second year recently, I am aware that it is a rollercoaster and full of highs and lows, so if elected I am keen to hear any feedback from second years in how I can assist to make the next year seamless for them and ensure they feel well supported.
