Alice Bell

I have three years of experience being a member of societies across performing arts, including theatre, music and dance. I have also held various committee roles in both dance and music societies. My main goals as performing arts officer would be:

• To make SUSU processes and rules clearer for the societies to follow and provide guidance targeted towards the particular needs of performing arts societies. As part of this, I would take feedback from the current societies and target the areas they find complicated or unclear.
• To help Facilitate collaboration and sharing of resources across performing arts and encourage community amongst the performing arts societies. For example, ensuring that all societies are aware of the equipment available to borrow from other societies and helping to put processes in place that ensure appropriate liability for any damage to borrowed equipment.
• To encourage inclusivity and accessibility within the performing arts and to support societies in meeting this goal. For example, looking into anything that could be done to improve the accessibility of spaces currently used by performing arts societies.
• To enable better promotion of performing arts activities to the university and the local community, for instance, updating the current performing arts website and using our social media accounts more. As part of this, I also hope to encourage outreach activities with the local community and opportunities for the performing arts on campus.
