Why vote for Emily?
I hope to be your next Archaeology President in order to tackle fundamental issues within the department and create real change that will help everybody, both staff and students. Archaeology is an inherently fascinating field, and I want to make sure everyone is able to learn in fun and diverse ways that are accessible to them. I hope to approach the issue of seminar attendence with an open mind, proposing solutions that would allow everyone to stay engaged with the subject - the idea of summary resources or hybrid formats seems excellent foundational ideas. Furthermore, I will endeavour to provide more academic resources for the students - the library guides are often overlooked. Highlighting these key resources would help bolster student grades and overall confidence in their abilities.
Finally, learning should be accessible to all, I hope to champion the needs of all students, including nuerodiverse or disabled - no adjustment should be too small to consider, whether that being a mental health problem affecting an essay submittal, or the 15 minute dash to Highfield being an issue. Everyone deserves to learn in an enriched, flexible and accessible institution.
