Why vote for Diekoloreoluwa-Oluwatobiloba?
As a candidate for mathematical Sciences School President, I am committed to building a vibrant, inclusive, and supportive community where every student feels valued, challenged, and inspired.
I will advocate for more accessible and diverse academic resources such as peer-led revision sessions, informal study groups, and clearer access to online materials. I will work with faculty to ensure that feedback is timely, helpful, and contributes to deeper understanding and improvement.
Mathematics can feel isolating, but it doesn’t have to be. I will organise social events, collaborative problem-solving nights, and inter-year meetups to build friendships and mentorships across cohorts. We’ll create spaces where students can share experiences, ask for help, and learn from one another.
I aim to strengthen links between the department and industry by hosting talks from professionals, running career workshops, and promoting internship and research opportunities. Students should graduate not only with theoretical knowledge but with a sense of how to apply it meaningfully.
Your concerns matter. I will ensure regular, open communication between students and faculty, bringing your feedback to departmental meetings and pushing for positive change on issues like workload balance, diversity in the curriculum, and access to mental health support.
Mathematics is a discipline of beauty, and endless possibility. As your President, I will work to ensure that our department reflects these values , and that every student has the opportunity to thrive.
