Nirmal Parikh - Business School President

Hi, I'm Nirmal Parikh, a BSc Business Entrepreneurship student entering second year and your current Course Rep. I’ve seen how hard it can be, especially for international and first-year students to settle in, find connections, and get the most out of what’s offered.

Peer learning sessions are meant to ease that transition, but low attendance means low impact. If elected as your Business School President, I’ll reimagine these sessions into vibrant, welcoming spaces—introducing Peer Learning Mixers with themes, and guided discussions to turn learning into something social and supportive. I’ll also push for a Buddy Scheme that pairs new students with friendly mentors from later years.

Another thing I’ll champion is transparency in SSLC feedback. As Course Rep, I’ve submitted real concerns from classmates, but there’s no system that shows how those are acted on. I want to introduce a simple, visible “You Said, We Did” update board (online and on campus), so students feel heard and see the results of their input.

Being an international student myself, I understand how overwhelming the early months can be. I want to help make this school a place where everyone feels guided, connected, and valued, right from the start.
