Why vote for Alisa?

My name is Alisa, and I am running to be your next Economics Department President. Over the past few months, I've had the privilege of serving as the first-year Joint Economics Course Representative. This experience has given me a strong understanding of the challenges we face, from low lecture attendance to the lack of early guidance on Spring weeks and internships.

If elected, I will focus on real, practical initiatives. To improve lecture engagement, I propose introducing "Coffee with Lecturers" sessions , causal monthly meet-ups where students can chat with lecturers in an informal setting. By building better relationships with staff, lectures can feel more approachable, and students will feel more connected to their learning experience.

For career development, I will launch a "First-Year Career Accelerator"- early workshops on Spring weeks, CV and Linkedln building, networking strategies, and mock interview practices, starting from term 1 to prepare students for internships and future careers.

I will also create Monthly Department Meet-ups to strengthen our community. These will feature Speed Networking with upper-year students, Mini Career Panels with alumni and recruiters, case study competitions with prizes, and social activities like quiz nights and pizza evenings.

I believe I am a strong candidate because I understand the issues we face and am committed to finding real, lasting solutions.

Choose experience. Choose action. Choose Alisa!
