Shraddha Kumar - Student Councillor

I am running to be a part of the Student Council because I care about fairness, transparency, and making sure every student’s voice is heard. My main promise is to make Council open, approachable, and accountable, with decisions that are clear and follow SUSU’s values.

 

I like to make decisions confidently, but I also listen to different views first. I think rules matter because they keep things fair for everyone. In my role, I will support Sabbatical Officers by keeping an eye on their plans, asking questions when needed, and making sure decisions follow SUSU’s democratic processes. This way, students see real progress and know they can trust Council to deliver.

 

Additionally, what I really want to focus on and improve is making the Council feel less distant from students. To aid this, I will share updates openly and frequently, while also encouraging more people to get involved in discussions. Students should feel confident that their concerns are heard and addressed, and I want to be there to help facilitate that.

 

By voting for me, you are choosing someone who will be fair and firm, who listens to students, and who genuinely cares about ensuring your concerns are heard and addressed. I will work hard to put students’ interests first, keep Council transparent, and hold officers accountable for their commitments. My goal is to make Council a place where everyone feels included, respected, and confident that their voice matters.
