Why vote for Abhishek?
Hi, my name is Abhi, and I am running for Student Councillor because I am committed to fulfilling the role’s primary purpose: Accountability and Transparency. The Council is responsible for overseeing the Union's policy, and I will be the lead representative ensuring it truly serves you.
My campaign focuses on holding the Sabbatical Team to Account while delivering tangible, wide-ranging improvements to your student life.
I will be an uncompromising Champion of Oversight for your interests. I will rigorously review Sabbatical Officer progress, committing to making their performance transparent. I will specifically ensure they are held accountable to the student body by demanding that all Sabbatical Officers meet every one of their public performance targets.
I will drive high-level policy change on student welfare and finance. I will aggressively campaign to make the cost of being a student fairer by lobbying to reduce core campus costs (food, printing, etc.). I will demand the Union prioritize the mental health crisis by pushing for the necessary increased funding to eliminate all mental health waiting lists, ensuring help is available immediately.
Finally, I will fight for better infrastructure. I will work to expand evening and weekend access to specialist faculty spaces, ensuring our facilities meet the needs of all students. I will also mandate greater efficiency by pushing for a strict 48-hour response time for all staff and administrative emails, ending the frustration of being ignored.
Vote Abhi for a dedicated Councillor who prioritizes Accountability and will relentlessly deliver a better, fairer UoS experience.
