Qi Wei - Economic, Social and Political Science School President

Dear Election Committee,

I am writing to nominate myself as a candidate for the position of School President of Economic, Social and Political Science at the University of Southampton. With a strong background in student leadership and a passion for building inclusive communities, I believe I am well-prepared to serve and represent my fellow students.

During my undergraduate years at Tianjin University of Science and Technology, I had the honor of serving as President of the Student Union. In this role, I organized large-scale academic and cultural events, coordinated communication between students and faculty, and worked to ensure that students’ voices were heard in decision-making processes. This experience has trained me to balance responsibility with creativity, and to lead a diverse team with empathy, efficiency, and vision.

At Southampton, I aim to create a more collaborative and supportive environment for all students in our School. My priorities include strengthening communication channels between students and faculty, organizing activities that foster both academic excellence and social connection, and ensuring that international and local students alike feel valued and engaged.

I am deeply committed to representing our student community with integrity, responsibility, and enthusiasm. I believe my experience and dedication make me a strong candidate for this position, and I would be honored to contribute my energy to our School’s growth and success.
