Why vote for Jason?

Since becoming a part of the ORC community, I have come to appreciate what it is that makes this place truly unique. We come from diverse backgrounds, both in discipline and culture, and it is precisely this diversity that acts as a catalyst for novel ideas. My goal is to preserve these values at the heart of the ORC through the following:

  1. Support All Students Engaged with ORC Teaching

I will provide equal representation and support to both students within the ORC and those from other schools. I am aware that many ORC taught modules see attendance by both PhD students and students from other schools. I will work to ensure all voices are respected and reflected in departmental decisions.

  1. Act as Main Point of Contact Between Students and Faculty

As School President, one of my main responsibilities is to act as a liaison between the student body and members of faculty. My aim is to provide representation for issues at the individual level and follow up with transparency in outcome and updates.

  1. Prioritisation of Wellbeing and Support

As both representative and student, I understand the pressures of postgraduate study. I promise to advocate for a supportive academic environment, encouraging open conversation about workload, balance and mental wellbeing.

Why Me?
I currently sit on the ORC Education Policy Committee as the student representative, have three years of committee experience, and can communicate effectively in both English and Mandarin.
