Maria Ravanelo - Chair of Council

As a new business student at the University of Southampton I am comitted to enhance the student collaboration on campus and improve our academic experience. Throughout my studies I have developed leadership and organisational skills that are going to be crucial to the chair of council role. I am proud to say that I am committed to make the students voices heard to improve our student community environment.

Through the election I am hoping to achieve inclusivity to students from different backgrounds. As a foreign student myself, I strongly believe on the importance to enhance representation in all university departments for a wider perspective and approach to decision making.

Also, with the chair of council role I am aiming to organise more events and workshops that prepare students from all faculties to improve their public speaking and leadership skills that will help them obtain higher success in the future.  Additionally, as a chair of council I would like to improve the collaboration and transparency between different departments, by encouraging joint projects between faculties to improve the communication and initiative of the University of Southampton students. 

As a chair of council, I am hoping to help students to put ideas into action, improve student community and become a representant of the students needs at the university, with initiative and enthusiam I am aiming to ensure every student at the University of Southampton feels heard and represented.
