Sir James Matthews building

Could you be a creative freelancer?

Freelancers are self-employed professionals who work in a range of professions from writers, filmmakers, and photographers to designers and artists. For many, freelancing is a full-time business, but for others, it’s about turning your creative passion into a side hustle, earning extra money alongside a day job or studies. Freelancing has become the norm in many industries, offering individuals the flexibility to shape their careers outside of a corporate setting. So, if you’re interested in being your own boss, our Go Freelance series could be for you!

Run by creative freelancers with valuable real-life lessons to share with you, we’ll help you answer key questions:

·        Is freelancing for me?

·        How do I find my first freelance clients?

·        How do I set prices and get paid?

·        What makes a standout freelance profile or portfolio?

·        How can I overcome common freelancing challenges and succeed?

Transport for students in Winchester: We will be offering free transport to bring you from WSA to the event at SJM and back again. Spaces are limited so book now to avoid missing out!

This Creative-focused event is part of a series of freelancing events taking place in February and March:

·        This event: Session 1: The Creatives – in partnership with Winchester School of Art

·        Session 2: The Music Industry – in partnership with the Music Department

This fantastic series is open to all students and recent graduates interested in freelancing.
