Women's History Month x Women in Sport Week!
Come and join our Quadball Club for a specific FINTA and current non-players session! FINTA - female, intersex, non-binary, trans and agender. In this session you will be taught the quadball basics, a mock-game but focusing on techniques to make players more confident playing a mixed-gender full-contact game.
The session is being held on Southampton Common, Avenue Subway. The club can meet people on the Redbrick to walk down to the training spot for 12:45pm, and they can also meet you at the bike sheds at Avenue Campus from 12:30pm as well. The exact training spot is marked with a pin on google maps called "Southampton Quadball Club".
The Organisers
Quadball (previously known as Quidditch) is a mixed gender, full contact sport that can be loosely described as a combination of handball, rugby and dodgeball. Quadball is a sport that, in most cases, starts at the university level – everyone joining the club is a beginner! We play other teams in the University League. SQC won the British Quadball Cup in 2022, placed third in 2023, and second in 2024. 2 years ago, we had the incredible opportunity to play in the European Quadball Cup held in Italy. Over the academic year, there are various competitive, fun and friendly competitions. We are an inclusive sport that does not support J.K. Rowling. As per the International Quadball Association rulebook: “Athletes play as their stated gender. All quadball athletes have the right to define how they identify and it is this stated gender that is recognised on pitch”.
