AhlulBayt Islamic Society

The Southampton AhlulBayt Islamic Society (ABSOC) is a student-led community inspired by the teachings of the Holy Qur'an and the AhlulBayt (AS), the family of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family). Across the Muslim world, the AhlulBayt are respected for their knowledge, character, devotion, and commitment to justice, compassion, and service to humanity. ABSOC aims to provide a welcoming space for students to explore Islamic teachings, develop spiritually, and build lasting friendships. Throughout the year, we organise lectures, discussion circles, social events, charitable initiatives, commemorations, educational workshops, and interfaith activities. Our society welcomes students of all backgrounds, whether you are Muslim or non-Muslim, Shia or Sunni, practising or simply curious to learn more. We strive to foster an inclusive environment that encourages meaningful discussion, mutual respect, personal growth, and a deeper understanding of Islam and the legacy of the AhlulBayt.
