Southampton University Chamber Choir is an award-winning group made up of 20-25 singers from around the university, ranging in age, background and degrees. SUCC is an auditioned choir that aims to perform to the highest possible standard across the local area and further afield. Through professional direction, we aim to promote self-development in choral and vocal technique, and foster an integrated and social atmosphere. We have a strong focus towards learning, and creating unique opportunities for student singers through concerts, music in worship and a diverse range of events. The choir sings music from a range of genres including sacred music, madrigals, folk songs, and occasionally jazz and pop. Recent venues include Romsey Abbey, Mottisfont Abbey and Portsmouth Cathedral, with tours to Vienna, Puglia and The Netherlands in past years. Rehearsals are held at Highfield Campus during term time every Tuesday from 7.00pm to 9.00pm.
