Welcome to FilmSoc, the University of Southampton's Film Society: your one stop shop for all things cinema! FilmSoc is a student-run society which shows films chosen by our members every Tuesday at 18.00 in Avenue Campus, LTB.
Screenings are free (and always will be), snacks and drinks will be provided (but feel free to bring your own) and there is no limit to the number of people you can bring along!
Along with weekly screenings we will be hosting events in conjunction with the university's cinema Union Films and our sibling society ArthouseSoc: a film society for the arthouse film lovers every Thursday at 18.00 in Avenue Campus, LTB.
For more information about screenings and events, find us on Facebook, Twitter or sign up to our FilmSoc mailing list by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Film buffs unite!.
We believe in working closely with all the filmic outlets the university, and indeed the city of Southampton has to offer. We will begin the year with some screenings aimed at film students as part of our goal to help educate anyone and everyone interested in the ways of film (this does not mean that non-film students aren't welcome, in fact the more the merrier!) and we will gradually open up our screenings to a broad range of themes and directors. Towards the end of the semester/just before holidays, we will be hosting a quiz (with prizes) in the university's pub The Stag as well as trips to the cinema at any number of Southampton's cinemas including ODEON, Cineworld or Harbour Lights.
SUSU Performing Arts represent 41 societies varying across the Dance (USD), Music and Theatrical areas. See our website, twitter or facebook to find a society you want to join or a show you want to watch
