Medicine is so much more than drugs and ward rounds. As we study, it’s hard to miss the ethical dilemmas that doctors deal with daily and the way that society influences healthcare. HELMS is a 1-year-old society keen to support engagement with ethical issues and an appreciation of the significance of law in medicine, to build confidence and ensure we have the necessary skills to be junior doctors. We also want to explore how humanities and the arts complement medicine by widening our horizons, making us better doctors.
