We are a social bouldering society for people of all climbing backgrounds – from total beginners to seasoned pros! Medics and non-medics alike are welcome!

Our weekly sessions run every Wednesday from 6:00pm at Boulder Shack (Portswood – bouldershack.co.uk) to around 8:00pm before going to the pub for a well deserved drink and a chat. Outside of climbing, we run socials every other Saturday, trips to larger climbing gyms like Parthian where you get the opportunity to learn roped climbing from one of our many teachers, as well as joint events with other societies – so if you’re looking for fun, friendly climbing and plenty of socials, we’re the society for you!

The Koalas membership for only £5 gives you access to:

• Reduced Boulder Shack monthly membership for £35
• Free shoe hire for the first 6 weeks (16th September - 28th October 2026)
• Access to Koalas' socials and the annual Koalas international tour
• Access to Koalas' outdoor bouldering pads

We’ve also got a society WhatsApp group where members can organise extra climbs outside of Wednesdays which you can find here.

Founded in 2021, we’re still a relatively new group and can’t wait to welcome more people. If you’re new to climbing, just message us on social media before coming along so we can look after you on the day. If you’re already confident, simply turn up at 6:00pm and find us dotted about Boulder Shack (look for the navy blue koalas shirts!)
