Welcome to Southampton Anime and Manga Society (SAMS)! We're a society dedicated to Anime, Manga and other aspects of Japanese culture, meeting weekly on Wednesdays and Fridays.
For Wednesday sessions this year (2026-27) we are hosting game show style quiz nights, followed by an hour of different anime previews each week. Suggestions for these previews will be collected throughout the year. We encourage members to submit their own themed quizzes to be played by the rest of the society, so please contact us if you are interested!
Friday sessions are for socials, and we endeavour to have a mix of pub socials and non-pub socials so that everyone can enjoy themselves and feel safe here. Alcohol will never be a compulsory or necessary component of any of our pub socials, so there is never any pressure to drink! As for our non pub socials, we have exciting things planned! This includes rhythm/video game tournaments, clay crafts nights, debate (or 'hear-me-out') nights, as well as more chill events like art night, manga + tabletop games café and so many more! We're always open to suggestions.
In addition to our regular sessions, we plan external events throughout the year such as trips to conventions (we have plans for MCM Comic Con London 2026), movie showings, Bunkasai cultural festival and our End of Year BBQ. We look forward to seeing you there!

Membership Information
These are the current membership fees offered by Anime and Manga Society, although many clubs and societies offer a free period for new members to try out their activities.
