Mauritian Society

Student Communities

The aim of the Southampton Mauritian Society is to bring together all the Mauritian students in the university to promote the Mauritian culture to non-Mauritian students.

We want all Mauritians to be aware that the society will help them with whatever problems they may face. The committee is always happy to help and we know how it can be sometimes hard to be far from home and away from our comfort zone .

Maths Society

SUMS is a Society set up with the intention of giving Southampton Mathematics students the chance to socialise together outside of lectures. Our main aim is to hold socials that everyone can enjoy, from fancy dress pub/house crawls. We hope everyone can find something to join in with.We also offer the opportunity for you to join one of our sports teams; check out the Sports page for more info. If you enjoy playing a sport for fun and don't want anything too serious or with too much commitment, If there is a sport you want to play that we don't currently have a team for, just let us know and we will see what we can do :).And finally SUMS also provides you with career related events. After all, that is the reason why most of us are at University (to get that all-important degree). Through the careers events we aim to offer you a chance to meet and talk to possible future employers, to ask them questions and seek their advice on what to do after University. We aim to offer something for everyone. SUMS is a society created for you.
