Southampton Medical Student Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee
The EDI Students Committee comprises a collective of medical students aiming to improve student experience and advocate for overlooked communities in medical education.
Welcome to the Faculty of Medicine Student EDI society!
We are a society focused on all things EDI (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion), especially within medicine. We welcome anyone and everyone into our community. We are looking to promote wellbeing and to drive change within the Faculty of Medicine to make teaching more inclusive for students, faculty members and future patients.
In the 2026/27 academic year, we want to host socials to build community, create booklets within subcomittees to encourage greater understanding of people with different experiences and to do research around how we can support people from different groups, with a specific focus on neurodiversity.

Membership Information
These are the current membership fees offered by Southampton Medical Student Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, although many clubs and societies offer a free period for new members to try out their activities.
