Women in Law
Welcome to the UoS Women in Law society page! While we have a focus on law, everyone is welcome. We provide lots of opportunities to meet like-minded people whilst also providing academic support and development. We hope we can be both fun and helpful and provide you with a sense of community at UoS! Feel free to contact us for more information.
The UoS Women in Law Society is a feminist-led society that aims to support students interested in law. While women make up over half of solicitors in the UK, there is still a lack of representation in senior positions and within the bar. Therefore, we believe there is more to be done to achieve equality within the legal profession.
Our aim is to improve the representation of women in law by creating a supportive community where members can feel confident and thrive academically. Alongside academic support, we provide a place for members to destress, have fun and meet like-minded people.
Although we are primarily aimed at law students, anyone is able to join. We can promise that you will always be welcome and always have fun with us!
