External Trustee

Salary: Unremunerated but reasonable expenses paid

We currently have two vacancies on our Trustee Board and are looking for highly skilled, experienced and motivated individuals to join our ten other trustees, eight of whom are current or recent students. Working closely with but also overseeing the performance of our Chief Executive and Senior Leadership team, you will be an essential element of the governance of our organisation. Trustees are responsible for strategic governance and compliance as SUSU delivers its organisational strategy, Ambition 25.

We are a membership-led and democratic organisation with the vision that every student loves their time at Southampton. We are committed to the diversity of our Board, ensuring that we represent the community of students we serve, and would particularly welcome applications from non-male candidates. All professional backgrounds will be considered with a preference for finance, commercial management or sustainability.

Time commitment

Meetings take place on campus in Southampton (with hybrid access a possibility)

Trustee Board meets 3 – 4 times a year and the Committees meet 2 – 3 times a year; all meetings take place within normal working hours.
