Up to £22,000 pro rata per annum

28 hours per week (4 days on, 4 days off) - permanent position working a rotating shift system which includes working evenings and weekends up to 23:00

 

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual wishing to become a Facilities Assistant.  The role is primarily based at the Students’ Union on the Highfield Campus, University of Southampton. 

 

The Role

In this role you will be part of the Facilities team looking after the security of our facilities, setting up facilities for bookings and events, and maintaining and enhancing our spaces. 

This is a manual role, including working at height, manual handling, and low-level technical work.  You will be an integral part of the team that delivers a wide range of activities, events, and bookings for our students and staff throughout the year.  

You will respond to any queries that arise during your shift, ensuring that you and the Students’ Union deliver the highest standards of service to our members. 

The role will require you to undertake training to manage situations that may arise, including first aid, security, and fire warden training.  You will be proficient to carry out hands-on duties including painting and basic DIY-type jobs to continually improve our facilities.
