The Role

This role sits in our Venues Team which forms part of our Social Enterprise offering at SUSU. As one of our Assistant Venues Managers you will be part of the Venues Management Team which includes the Venues Manager, Deputy Venue Manager and Assistant Venues Managers.

In this role you are responsible for managing shifts in Stag’s and Below Deck, our two drink led outlets. You will shift manage a team of up to 10 members of staff and ensure that they deliver the highest possible standards in our venues.

You will be put through the Personal License process, if you don’t already hold one, to ensure that you have the requisite knowledge of licensing law. Part of the role will also involve liaising with external contractors on shift, such as security and event organisers. This role will also act as a key holder for the SUSU buildings when required.

More information can be found on the role profile and personal specification. Stag’s also serves food daily as well as facilitating a pop-up food stall on campus twice a week. Therefore, you will need to obtain a level 3 food hygiene qualification (if you don’t already have one), which will be facilitated by SUSU.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need to be motivated and proactive. You will often be the most senior member of staff on a shift and will need to be able to prioritise and allocate tasks to the team effectively. Ideally you will have a strong background in customer service and supervisory roles.

You will be working alongside and serving students; therefore, you need to have an appreciation of their needs and be willing to listen to constructive feedback to help us deliver an appropriate offer for our members.

You will report to the Venues Manager and will have regular interactions with the various other SUSU functions so you should be comfortable communicating with a wide range of people and be able to tailor your methods and tone to suit the audience.
