Why is first past the post voting required for sports/society AGMs?

Why do you limit sports/society AGMs to use First Past the Post voting and not allow them to choose the most appropriate system for their elections?

STV (single transferable voting) is used for SUSU elections so it seems ridicultous that you limit AGMs to using what is arguably a more flawed system.

Hi thank you for your query,

The answer to this is the same as your query on in-person voting, that currently we do not have the ability to facilitate this on the Union system, due to the sheer number of society AGMs that need to be held. Without this we wouldn't be able to ensure that this more complicated system be correctly carried out. I will however pass this feedback onto the team that deals with this, as hopefully this is something we could look to facilitate in the future. If you have any other questions or feedback, pease do get i touch with democracy@susu.org.

Manby thanks,
