campaign to remove the email warning banner.

"CAUTION: This email originated from outside of the University of Southampton. Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognise the sender and know the content is safe."

Great in theory, terrible in execution. It's the Boy Who Cried Wolf.

I'm already ignoring it after 2 days due to the amount of important emails I get from outside the University.  Emails from the NOC, part of the university are included as "outside the University" because they don't end with "'soton.ac.uk". Even emails from the NHS about the saliva testing programme had this as the first line.

Now the preview of the first line of emails which used to allow for quick scanning for important emails is replaced with this. Not to mention the bright neon yellow bar at the top of emails, burning into the retina.

At the very least, allow us to add senders to a safe sender list which removes the line from the top of email for those we've confirmed as safe ourselves. Otherwise it should just be removed outright.

Thank you for your submission.

We have shared this feedback with the iSolutions team and the banner has been changed. They are working on improving it, and preventing trusted sources being given the warning banner.

Kind Regards,

Avila
